JSON Editor FAQs

What can I do with this JSON editor?+

You can type or paste JSON, validate and format it, search keys or values, explore nested data as an expandable tree, view compatible data in a table, and compare the current document with another JSON version. Everything runs directly inside your browser.

How does the JSON tree view work?+

Choose Tree after entering valid JSON. Objects and arrays become expandable nodes with type badges, key counts, and item counts. Expand or collapse individual branches, or use the controls above the tree to open or close the entire document at once.

Which JSON works with the table view?+

An array of objects produces the most useful table because each object becomes a row and its properties become columns. A root object is displayed as key, value, and type rows. Deep objects and arrays are preserved as compact JSON inside individual table cells.

How do I compare two JSON documents?+

Keep the first document in the main editor, open Compare, and paste the second document into the comparison field. Select Compare JSON to format both versions and display a highlighted side-by-side diff with additions, removals, and changed characters.
