JSON to XML FAQs
How do I convert JSON to XML?+
Paste, type, or upload valid JSON into the input editor, choose a root element name, and select Convert. The tool recursively converts objects into XML elements and repeats element names for array items. You can then copy the XML or download it as an XML file.
How are JSON arrays converted to XML?+
Each value in a JSON array becomes a repeated XML element with the same tag name. Objects inside the array are converted into nested child elements. This produces simple, readable XML without adding artificial array wrappers that may not be expected by another application or API.
What happens to null values and special characters?+
A JSON null value becomes an empty, self-closing XML element. Reserved XML characters such as ampersands, angle brackets, quotation marks, and apostrophes are escaped automatically. Invalid characters in JSON property names are replaced so the generated element names remain safe for XML documents.
Is this JSON to XML converter private?+
Yes. JSON validation and XML conversion happen locally inside your browser. Pasted text and uploaded files are not sent to jsontoyaml.net or another conversion service. You should still follow your organization’s policies when working with credentials, personal information, or other sensitive data.
