JSON Parser FAQs
What does a JSON parser do?+
A JSON parser reads JSON text, validates its syntax, and turns it into a structured value that software can inspect. This tool displays that structure as an interactive tree, letting you expand nested objects and arrays while seeing each key, value, data type, and JSON path.
How do I explore nested JSON data?+
Paste, type, or upload JSON and select Parse. Expand an object or array by selecting its row, or use Expand and Collapse for the entire tree. The initial tree depth control lets you decide how many nested levels should be open when the result is created.
What JSON value types are shown in the tree?+
The parser distinguishes objects, arrays, strings, numbers, booleans, and null values. Each node receives a compact type badge and type-specific color. Objects show their number of keys, arrays show their item count, and primitive values appear directly beside their property name or index.
Is JSON parsing performed privately?+
Yes. Parsing, validation, and tree rendering happen locally in your browser. Pasted content and uploaded files are not sent to jsontoyaml.net or another service. The Copy JSON action copies a formatted version of the parsed data directly to your clipboard.
