JSON to Query String FAQs
How do I convert JSON to an HTTP query string?+
Paste, type, or upload a JSON object, choose how arrays should be encoded, decide whether to include the leading question mark, and select Convert. Keys and values are URL encoded automatically, and the resulting query string can be copied or downloaded.
How are nested JSON objects converted?+
Nested object properties use bracket notation before URL encoding. For example, a category inside a filters object becomes filters[category], which is encoded safely in the final query. Many PHP, Node.js, and web frameworks can parse this notation back into nested values.
Which array format should I choose?+
Brackets produces repeated keys ending in empty brackets, while Repeat key sends the same key once per primitive value. Comma separated joins primitive items into one parameter. The correct choice depends on how the receiving API or server framework expects arrays to be represented.
Are query parameter names and values URL encoded?+
Yes. Both keys and values use standard percent encoding so spaces, brackets, ampersands, Unicode text, and other reserved characters cannot break the query string. The conversion runs locally in your browser, and the original JSON is not uploaded to a server.
